I qualified from Massey University in New Zealand in the late 1980’s and have always worked in surgically orientated roles. I moved to Bristol in 2000 to become a partner in a small animal practice in the south of the city and became increasingly dedicated to orthopaedic surgery. I left the practice to concentrate on professional development and spent time at Massey University in the surgery department of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital training with specialist surgeons and helping with surgical instruction of undergraduate students.
Recognising the need for a dedicated visiting specialist surgery service in the southwest, I returned to Bristol in 2011 with the aim of providing an affordable, high quality surgical service to local veterinary practices and their clients. I am enrolled in the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) course, and spend two days each week at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists.
