Animal Nursing Assistant

Purton Vets are looking for an Animal Nursing Assistant for a maternity cover position.  The vacancy is for approximately 9 months to 1 year starting in October 2022. 

We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong work ethic who is able to support our nursing team. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and understand the importance of good husbandry and hygiene in a clinical setting. 

We are looking for someone with previous experience working with animals such as volunteering or someone who has studied animal care.  

Although this is a fixed term position it is an excellent pathway to further your career in the veterinary industry, once you have the experience under your belt.   

The hours are Monday to Friday 11.30am to 7.30pm 

Duties include: 

  • Rotating washing  
  • Cleaning patient kennels 
  • Feeding and walking patients as appropriate 
  • Cleaning and sterilising surgical kits and gowns 
  • Cleaning down theatre after use 
  • Helping maintain clinic hygiene
