Meet the Team
After a 17 year career in teaching I decided that it was time to swap naughty students for animals! I joined the practice as a receptionist in March 2011 and have loved every minute of it.
I live with my husband and our cats - Fleur and Bethany, who rule the roost! We also foster for Cats Protection, so regularly have little visitors in our home. As well as looking forward to meeting you and your animals on reception, I will be working hard to help Cats Protection re-home the cats we have here in the cat cabins, so don't be suprised if you end up going home with more than you bargained for!! We adopted both of our cats from Cats Protection.
I worked at the Post office before joining Purton Vets as a receptionist in May 2012. I am enjoying the challenges of my new role and meeting all the clients and their pets.
I joined the team at Purton Vets in January 2013 via an assortment of careers in the private and public sectors.
I live locally with my husband and our beloved moggy Bentley (named in recognition of our love of motorsport). I love the great outdoors, especially walking the various long-distance routes in UK and, when I get the opportunity, trekking in more exotic locations.
At Purton Vets we offer exceptional client and patient care, giving you time to talk, listen and share in the decision making process.
We are open 7 days a week with 24 hour emergency cover and offer all the services you need, including continuity of care from a small experienced team with modern facilities in a friendly atmosphere.

Hi my name is Jo. I started working at Purton Vets in December 2013. Previous to working here I worked in the hair and beauty industry for many years. I live in Purton with my partner we have a 4 year old dog called Alfie. My hobbies are walking the the dog, camping and gardening.
I live locally with my husband and our two children. I joined the team in April 2015 after a varied career including bookselling, primary school teaching, and farm work. I have kept a variety of pets all my life, including stick insects, rats and snakes as well as the usual rabbits, cats and dogs. Our current menagerie consists of a sproodle called Neville, a lurcher called Joe, two South American criollo horses, and about 25 chickens!
My main hobby is western horse riding, and I am also very interested in animal behaviour and welfare issues.
I have lived in Purton all my life and was previously working as a receptionist at a vets in Cirencester, which I loved but the opportunity to work closer to home was too good to miss.
I have a couple of naughty ginger pet cats called Paddington and Marmalade and on the family farm we have four lovely old Labradors.
I'm looking forward to meeting the pets of Purton and their lucky owners.
I joined the team in February 2017. I live in Cirenester with my husband and our lovely dog Rosie. We rescued Rosie from the Bahamas as a puppy and Rosie is known as a 'potcake' which is a local term for street dogs. I am an avid open water swimmer and also enjoy playing tennis.
