Our new practice cat

July 28, 2010
Flo arrived at the practice in April 2010 after a member of the public brought her in as they were concerned about her health.  She had very sore and inflamed gums and horrible teeth which was making eating difficult.  After providing her with extensive dental work and removing most of her teeth, we found she had an underlying virus.  The virus may cause her to have ongoing problems with her mouth and gums throughout her life.  The virus may also start to affect her in other ways such as joint problems.

Flo is very sweet but a little nervous and we were concerned about finding her a suitable new home.  We decided to see how Flo liked living here with us so gave her free-roam of the kitchen and offices upstairs.  After hiding on top of a cupboard in the kitchen for a week, she began to settle in and venture down for a cuddle.  Flo is now a much happier and more confident cat and spends much of her time sprawled out on the kitchen table trying to steal our lunches!
