The 12th of June was a perfect day for the annual Purton Carnival. Many of you attended and the high street was packed with familiar faces from across Swindon. The theme for this year's carnival was 'film' - so keeping with the animal theme Purton Vets entered the walking group section as the Disney film - Madagascar. You know the one - the dancing lemurs and talking penguins? Not only were we lucky with the weather but our efforts were rewarded with 2nd place in our category!

Our prize money has been donated to the Wootton Bassett branch of Cats Protection.
Lucy and Ethan Stock (Linda our client care mangers children) joined us on the procession having entered the decorated bike competition.
Lucy went with the High School Musical theme which won her 1st prize and Ethan went for Jurassic Park which gained 2nd place.
The procession started from Witts Lane and wound its way through Purton finishing at Bradon Forest School where the carnival fete was held.
As part of the carnival fete, we host a fun pet show. This year there were three classes:
1. Dog with the waggiest tail
2. Best condition pet
3. Most unusual pet
The turnout this year was great, with lots of entrants joining in the fun.
We had 11 entrants in Class 1 who all "performed" with varying degrees of success!
First prize went to Mitchel with Buzz as the dog with the waggiest tail! (Those who know Buzz also happen to know he has luck on his side having been in a coma for days as a puppy)
The runners up were Joanne with Lola, who considering she is only a few months old performed with great enthusiasm!
Best condition pet went to Abby with Lily.
Finally our most unusual pet this year went to Lola and Lettuce.
A big thak you to all who helped out to make this years event a success and to all who joined in the fun at the pet show.
