We like to be on top of all the latest breakthroughs at Purton
Vets, however we were bowled over by this interesting case . Bing
Stockwell - a 4 year old Devon Rex - whose X-ray is shown below was
truly technological. In fact we think 'embracing' new technology was
maybe taken a little to far in Bing's case - Bing decided to
eat the technology!
Yes , its that white wiggly line in the middle of the belly that
just happens to be an MP3 cord (earphones) which 'Bing' took a
cons
iderable liking to a few days earlier . It turns out Bing wasn't
just into MP3s, in fact when we operated on him we found wrapping tape
, shoe laces and a hair band - a fashion victim too !!
It took an hour and 6 different incisions into Bings intestine to remove it all.

Bing was very lucky and made a full recovery, however swallowing
items (technological or otherwise) can be life threatening and not all
stories have a happy ending so Bing's owners thought we may be able to
use his case to prevent other cats unwantedly delving into new
technology and fashion.

Bing's top tips :
-Keep all wires and small objects away from inquisitive pets.
-If your pet vomits repeatedly or is feeling ill in any way , then
we need to know about it so that we can give you advice as to what to
do .
-Remember to get your pet insured and to keep up to date with
insurance . Unfortunately because of the credit crunch, Bing's
insurance was cancelled one month earlier which meant Bing wasn't
covered for his technological endeavours .
